Today on Live Well Anyway, MacKenzie and Katie back to talk all about looking forward to the New Year with hope and how to approach our planning and goal setting in light of all the uncertainty of our times. MacKenzie lays out her step by step method of planning and challenges Katie (and us!) to follow these steps to set goals for new habits and routines in 2021.

  1. Brain Dump: assess where you currently are in different areas of your life.

  2. Envision: think about the life you want to have and what practices are going to get you there.

  3. Practices vs. Projects: consider what are the building blocks of your daily life as opposed to one-time tasks that will facilitate your daily practices.

  4. Back Up Plan: decide what are you base level things that you need to do even on the days when everything else falls apart.

  5. Track Your Progress: write down what you have done to have a record of your progress in even the small steps.

  6. Come Together: find accountability with a friend or group of people to help keep you on track and give you perspective.
